How to remove yourself from Intelius
Intelius's opt-out is not on intelius.com itself. It goes through a separate PeopleConnect Suppression Center. It asks for more information than the other brokers on this site (including a date of birth), so read the list below before you start. This page is only partly verified: Intelius's own pages blocked our automated check, so some steps come from independent guides and are labeled that way.

Quick facts
- Cost
- Free to do yourself
- Expected time
- Intelius/PeopleConnect did not state a turnaround on any page we could read. Independent guides say about 72 hours, and up to 10 business days to propagate. Treat that as an unconfirmed estimate. Third-party guide
- Do listings come back?
- We found no statement from Intelius about how often listings return. Because public-record data keeps being re-collected, we suggest re-checking every few months (our suggestion, not a company figure). Not stated

What Intelius asks for
- An email address (the flow starts with an email verification link) Third-party guide
- Your date of birth and legal name, used to find your record Third-party guide
- Access to an email or phone number that is already on your record, to receive a code. If you no longer have any, the self-serve flow can dead-end and you must contact the company Third-party guide
- No payment Third-party guide
Step-by-step: remove yourself from Intelius
- Go to intelius.com/opt-out. When we looked, that address leads to suppression.peopleconnect.us, the PeopleConnect Suppression Center (link below). Tip: use an email address you can open immediately.
- Enter your email, agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and continue. Independent guides say a verification email arrives from no-reply@verifications.peopleconnect.us and its link expires after about 15 minutes.
- Click the verification link, then enter your date of birth and legal name as the tool requests. Independent guides warn the date of birth cannot be changed once entered, so check it.
- Choose your record from the matching results. Check the locations and aliases because common names produce many matches.
- Verify the record is yours. Independent guides say you pick a partially masked email or phone number from your record, type the full value, request a code, and enter it.
- Finally, set the record to Suppressed and save. Independent guides stress that verifying alone does not hide anything; the suppression setting must be changed and saved.
- Search your name on Intelius a few days later. Independent guides say PeopleConnect's suppression also applies to its sister sites, so check those too.
What this will not do
- PeopleConnect's own Suppression Center page says the tool applies only to Public Data generated in response to a name search on the people-search sites in the PeopleConnect family. It does not apply to User Data on those sites or to other sites in the family such as Classmates.com.
- It also says your name and other information may still appear in phone, address or email reports, or on registered sex offender lists, and that suppression does not affect third-party sources.
- PeopleConnect says it may restrict or stop offering the tool if it detects abuse.
If something goes wrong
Intelius's privacy policy (last revised September 29, 2026) lists privacy@intelius.com and (888) 245-1655, Monday through Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm Pacific. Independent guides also cite privacy@peopleconnect.us for records you cannot self-verify.
Other routes mentioned by Intelius
- California residents: Intelius's privacy policy says that as a registered data broker it processes deletion requests submitted through the California Privacy Protection Agency's DROP platform, but notes DROP does not apply to publicly available information and requests are processed in batches. It recommends also using its Privacy Center for public data suppression.
- Intelius's privacy policy also describes separate routes for judges, law enforcement officers and other covered persons, and a Washington cell-phone number option via (888) 245-1655.
If you'd rather have a service do this for you
This is one of the more involved opt-outs, and the self-serve flow can stall if you no longer have access to the contacts on your record. Paid removal services can handle brokers like this for you. They cost money and we have not tested them.
Paid removal services such as Optery, Incogni and DeleteMe offer this. You never need to buy anything to remove your listing; the steps above are free.

How we verified this page
Last verified 2026-10-26. Broker forms change without notice. If a step no longer matches what you see, trust the broker's page and tell us.
Confirmed on the broker's own pages
- The Suppression Center's scope and limits text was read on suppression.peopleconnect.us on 2026-10-26.
- Intelius's privacy policy (revised September 29, 2026) was read on intelius.com for the contact details, the DROP notice and the covered-person route.
- An Internet Archive snapshot dated 2026-10-01 shows intelius.com/opt-out resolving to suppression.peopleconnect.us.
Reported by third parties only (not confirmed by the broker)
- The step-by-step flow, the date-of-birth and masked-credential verification, the 15-minute email-link expiry, the sister-site coverage and all timing numbers come from independent guides (redact.dev, Encovert, dataremoval.ai, Discoverability, USA Today), not from an Intelius page.
Could not verify
- Every step inside the Suppression Center after its start page. The login/flow page returned an error to our automated fetch and intelius.com/opt-out returned a Cloudflare block.
- The exact turnaround time and which sister sites are covered, since no PeopleConnect page we could read lists them.
